Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on every page of gforceit.ca.
In Ontario, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards require organizations with 50 or more employees to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA on their websites. We hold this site to the newer WCAG 2.2 standard whatever our size, and we follow the AODA’s customer service principles: dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.
Where we stand
WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the target for this site. Automated checks and keyboard reviews support that work, but do not establish accessibility for every person or assistive technology. The site has not had an independent accessibility audit. Known limitations and a way to report barriers are listed below.
What we have built in
- Keyboard
- Every link, button, form and tool works with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline. A “Skip to content” link starts every page.
- Screen readers
- Pages use landmarks and headings in order, every form field has a label, errors are explained in words next to the field, and results such as the health check score are announced.
- Colour and contrast
- Text meets the AA contrast ratios in both the light and dark themes, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
- Motion
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the opening animation is skipped and films stay on their posters until you choose Play. Automatic clips are brief, play once and stop when they leave view. The client-logo row shows a still, wrapped list when reduced motion is enabled.
- Zoom and small screens
- Pages are built to reflow on small screens and when zoomed, without sideways scrolling.
- Forms
- No time limits and no CAPTCHA puzzles. Spam is filtered in ways you won’t notice.
- Media
- Our films are silent and decorative, so they don’t need captions. Images that carry information have text alternatives.
- Light and dark
- Choose a light or dark theme from the header. Until you do, the site follows your device setting.
Known limitations
- Office map. The map comes from OpenStreetMap and may not work fully with a keyboard or screen reader. The full address and a directions link are always shown next to it.
- Online booking. If we connect a third-party booking calendar, its accessibility is outside our control. You can always book by phone or email instead.
- Saved checklists. When you save the security checklist as a PDF, your browser creates the file, so how accessible it is depends on your browser. The checklist page itself is the most accessible version.
If one of these gets in your way, contact us and we will give you the information another way.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format such as large print or plain text, please tell us:
- Email info@gforceit.ca with “Accessibility” in the subject line.
- Call +1 (825) 606-9777, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. MT (11 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET).
- Write to G-FORCE IT SERVICES INC., 130 King Street West, Suite 1900, Toronto, ON M5X 1E3.
Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you’re comfortable sharing it, the device or assistive technology you use. A person replies within one business day and tells you what we will do about it.
How the site is built
The site is built with standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Pages and their content work without JavaScript; the interactive tools, such as the health check, the course finder and the calculator, need it. It is designed for current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and for assistive technology such as the NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver screen readers.
